SMSC Coaches

All SMSC coaches are contracted by the SMSC to coach group lessons on our CanSkate and PreStar and Adult learn to skate skating sessions. 

Private lessons are not club paid, a skater will need to hire an SMSC coach to teach them on one of our CanSkate, PreStar or StarSkate sessions.  For more information on our coaches and the lessons they can provide, please email the club at info@smfsc.ca, do not contact the coach directly until you have been  directed by our administrator to find a coach.

SMSC coaches are self-employed and are only available for skaters who are registered with SMSC for lessons on one of our programs, they set their own hours and fees. Once a coach has been hired for private lessons on CanSkate, PreStar or in our StarSkate program, then the skater communicates directly with the coach, SMSC is not involved.  Skaters must keep their accounts with our coaches up to date in order to remain in good standing with the club.

All PreStar skaters and StarSkate skaters must make arrangements to hire a coach for private lessons when  they complete CanSkate (and want to join the figure skating program) or transfer from another club and are instructed to do so by the club administrator.

CanSkaters (Stage 3 and above) can also arrange to have their skater work directly with an individual coach for private lessons during the warm-up period of CanSkate sessions.  Please contact the club administrator for help in setting this up.
