COVID-19 Information

We are offering our StarSkate and CanPowerSkate programs this Summer, 2021. These schedules accommodate the Stage 3 modified Health Measures introduced by the Government of Ontario. Skating sessions are slated to run starting Monday, July 26 weekly until September 3, 2021.  CanSkate and AdultSkate programs are planned for Fall/Winter 2021/2022. Thank you to all of our members for your understanding and patience.

  • Up to August 13, 2021: We will be skating at Iceland Arena, Rink 4
  • Starting August 16 2021: We expect to be using main entrance of Meadowvale Four Rinks and be in our home rink 3

STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR YOUR SESSION AT THE RINK

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE RINK

  • A Skate Ontario Indemnity form will need to be completed for each skater; the first time that the skater is scheduled to be on the ice for the season. 
  • Physical distancing of 2 meters (6 feet) is required while entering the facility.
  • All persons entering our facilities must wear a face covering that securely covers the nose, mouth and chin as required under the City of Mississauga by-law no. 0169-2020. Persons who are engaged in on-ice activity are exempt while on the ice, in accordance with Step 3 regulations.
  • It is recommended that Skaters arrive fully dressed and ready to enter the facility to skate - however, change rooms are available. Remember to have good skate guards to protect your blades.
  • StarSkaters are encouraged to bring a water bottle, tissues (and bag for disposal). Hand sanitizer is readily available in the lobby but skaters can bring their own.  
  • Water bottles should be filled at home before arrival at the rink.
  • Complete the Health Screening Questionnaire on-line before your arrival; every day that you come to the rink.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE RINK

  • You may warm up in the parking lot. Remember to physical distance and respect those around you.
  • July 26 to August 13, 2021: We will be skating at Iceland Arena, Rink 4 and will need to enter the arena through the rear doors of the facility (south entrance). 
    August 16 - September 3, 2021: We expect to be using main entrance of Meadowvale Four Rinks and be in our home rink 3.
  • Limited use of dressing rooms will be available so skaters can put their skates on in the rink, parents are allowed to enter to help skaters get their skates on.  The viewing area is available but please remember to maintain physical distancing.  
  • Please be advised that we are required to record contact information for anyone that enters City of Mississauga facilities to support Public Health contact tracing efforts as required, if necessary.
  • All parents/guardians will be required to be actively screened at the door of the facility before being permitted entry.  
  • All persons entering our facilities must wear a face covering that securely covers the nose, mouth and chin as required under the City of Mississauga by-law no. 0169-2020. Persons who are engaged in on-ice activity are exempt while on the ice, in accordance with Step 3 regulations.
  • Sanitize your hands when entering and exiting the facility
  • General areas of the facility (i.e. lobby, warm viewing areas) will have limited access, and will be primarily used for participants and parents/spectators to go to their rink. We do not want to encourage groups hanging around the lobby. Customers must stay within the stanchions and follow directional markings.
  • NO food or drinks (other than water bottles) will be permitted in the facility
  • Warm-ups will not be allowed inside the facility under any circumstances
  • Concessions will remain closed
  • On-site Pro Shops will be open, but may have limited hours of operation
  • Customer service desks will be open, but may have limited hours of operation
  • Public washrooms will be open

ON THE ICE

  • Please remain spaced at least 2m apart when entering and exiting the ice surface, one gate will be used for entry, the other for exit.
  • Skaters and coaches, masks are required in the facility but are not required when skaters are on the ice.
  • Please dispose of used tissue after use (in the bag you bring with you), you are responsible for providing your own tissues and bag for disposal as tissues must not be left around the boards or players benches.
  • Music will be supplied by the coaches for their own skaters

REMINDERS

  • Masks and gloves should be washed daily after returning home from the rink
  • Bring your own hand sanitizer and use it frequently
